As a long-time admirer of Ezra Miller‘s talent and the unique energy they bring to their roles, I must say this recent turn of events has left me both relieved and perplexed. Relieved because it appears that the allegations against Miller seem to have been withdrawn, but perplexed due to the suddenness and seemingly unsubstantiated nature of the initial claims.
It appears that I’ve been released from the allegations of inappropriate behavior, as the individual who initially made the accusations against me has withdrawn their court filings.
Chase Iron Eyes, a man who previously alleged that actor Ezra Miller was engaging in “grooming” of his child, has explained their decision to withdraw the complaint that they had made back in June 2022.
Three years ago, Iron Eyes, an attorney and activist, submitted a court petition claiming that Miller had been inappropriately influencing Tokata, his child, since she was twelve. However, it was later revealed that the witness who provided this testimony retracted their statement and admitted there was no evidence to support the claim. Consequently, Iron Eyes swiftly withdrew the legal documents he presented to the court.
He provided detailed insights about the issue through a lengthy Instagram post, titled “Addressing the three-year-old drama surrounding my petition against Ezra, in which I accused him of ‘grooming’ Tokata”. In that heated period (when battles were raging), I made that accusation based on information from a witness who later retracted their statement, claiming nothing inappropriate had occurred. As a result, I promptly withdrew the court documents related to this matter.
In June 2022, court papers presented at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court revealed that Miller had been mistreating Tokata ever since they crossed paths at the Standing Rock Reservation in 2016. The accusations made in these documents suggested that Miller began influencing their young daughter in an inappropriate manner. Nevertheless, Tokata later attempted to dismiss their parents’ worries by publishing on Instagram, claiming that Miller was merely offering encouragement and safeguarding them.
At the age of 21, Tokata currently performs alongside Miller, who is 31 years old. The iconic figure Iron Eyes has expressed support for their band, Hundred in the Hand. He emphasizes that his primary concern revolves around the well-being of his child. According to him, the family’s priorities lie in healing and moving forward, with the understanding that as long as Tokata is safe and sound, everything else will follow suit.
I must confess, being under the glare of public attention intensified my worries, demanding immense strength to conquer. As Chase eloquently put it, “When there’s no sanctuary of anonymity, there’s nowhere safe to hide. It’s a peculiar predicament and not something to yearn for. It takes a great deal of courage to plunge back into the battle.”
He added, “Now we are doing our level best to move on, to reconcile, to heal while remaining supportive as a father; as long as Tokata’s good we’re good.”
In August 2022, Ezra Miller publicly shared their struggles with mental health issues and expressed regret for certain past behaviors, also mentioning their intention to continue therapy as a means of addressing these concerns.
