It Ends With Us 2: Everything To Know About It Starts With Us

As a die-hard fan who has followed every twist and turn in Blake Lively’s career since her days on Gossip Girl, I must say that the latest drama surrounding It Ends With Us and its potential sequel, It Starts With Us, has me absolutely captivated!

Blake Lively’s most recent film, “It Ends With Us,” has been among the year’s top films due to its intriguing storyline and the debates it sparked.

Following the triumph of the romantic drama, director and actor Justin Baldoni gained widespread attention by expressing his views on a possible sequel, It Starts With Us. He made it clear that he was hesitant about directing the potential film. The question of whether the lead cast would return for the movie remains uncertain, particularly given the turmoil surrounding It Ends With Us.

Although It Ends With Us garnered an impressive global box office collection exceeding $80 million during its opening weekend on August 9, 2024, Sony Pictures has yet to officially announce a sequel to the film. Blake Lively, who played Lily Bloom, not only starred in the movie but also served as one of its producers.

Instead of Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios potentially directing “It Starts With Us,” Justin feels that Blake Lively could be a more suitable choice instead. Furthermore, author Colleen Hoover expressed her enthusiasm for the project and believes that whoever tackles the sequel will ensure its excellence.

Published in October 2022, “It Starts With Us” continues the storyline from “It Ends With Us.” Previously married couple Lily and Ryle share custody of their daughter. As the narrative unfolds, Lily finds herself rekindling feelings for Atlas, which leads to a date that leaves Ryle displeased. Characters Alyssa and Marshall also appear in this sequel, alongside some members of Atlas’ family.

In the upcoming sequel, the focus shifts predominantly to Lily and her son, Atlas, rather than her past relationship with her ex-husband, Ryle. However, there will still be instances of violence involving Ryle, mainly directed towards Lily and Atlas. The book, titled “It Starts With Us,” marks a fresh start for both Atlas and Lily.

Regarding the disputes about “It Ends With Us,” it appears that co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were involved in a spat, as they rarely appeared together during the film’s promotion. Fans also noticed a stark contrast between Baldoni’s earnest approach towards the movie’s message and Lively’s more casual tone.

More recently, Alexa Nikolas criticized Rachel Lively for incorporating a track by her former spouse, Mike Milosh, into a film that revolves around domestic abuse. Previously, Nikolas had accused Milosh of both abuse and grooming, but so far, Lively has not addressed these allegations.
