It’s been suggested that a long-anticipated sequel to the 2008 film “Hancock,” in which Will Smith played a troubled superhero, is in development. Smith has expressed interest in casting Zendaya for the upcoming movie. In the original film, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman co-starred with Smith.

During an unexpected appearance on xQc’s live stream, Smith revealed that discussions about Hancock 2 have been taking place. While he was vague about specifics, he did suggest that progress is being made in the production of the film. Moreover, he hinted at potential cast changes, mentioning that the actress from Dune has been considered for a role in the sequel.

2008’s Peter Berg-directed movie Hancock starring Will Smith showcased a unique take on superheroes. The character was depicted as a drunken, misunderstood hero who was both shunned and mocked by the public. In his attempt to regain control of his life and uncover his past, he struggles through various challenges. Interestingly, the story that served as the foundation for this film was penned by Vincent Ngo back in 1996.

On his livestream, Smith mentioned an intriguing concept for Hancock 2. So far, we haven’t discussed it.

The actor from The Pursuit of Happyness mentioned, “I’ll share a small tidbit with you. It seems Zendaya is being considered for a part in Hancock 2.”

Since the film’s debut in 2009, there have been whispers of a follow-up. Martin Berg confirmed to MTV News that both Will Smith (Bad Boys actor) and Charlize Theron would be reprising their roles. He mentioned that the entire cast was eager to make a sequel, but unfortunately, no filming ever took place for the sequel.

By 2012, Berg informed Comicbook Movie that complications in the schedules of key figures like Smith, producer Michael Mann, and Akiva Goldsman had halted progress. Despite this, he remained optimistic, expressing that Smith had an idea for the sequel and that it was just a matter of finding the right timing.

Last year, we held several discussions and began brainstorming a concept for a sequel. Interestingly, it was Will Smith who came up with the initial idea. So, I believe that the project is in the works; it’s simply a matter of finding the right timing.
