As a devoted fan of both Linden Ashby and The Young And The Restless, I must admit that his possible departure from the show leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. On one hand, it’s always sad to see a beloved character exit a series, but on the other, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I reflect on Ashby’s impressive career trajectory.
It’s possible that actor Linden Ashby, known for his role as Cameron Kirsten on the long-running CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” could be leaving the cherished series.
The actor first joined the show from 2003 to 2004, and then resurfaced on it in 2023. Tragically, he was killed off in June 2023, but continued to appear as a figment of Sharon Newman’s imagination, urging her towards criminal activities.
On Monday, November 25th’s episode of the CBS series, viewers saw Sharon tidying up Crimson Lights after Esther had departed. It was then that an apparition resembling Cameron seemed to appear.
In simpler terms, the imaginary figure suggested that it would be more advantageous for Sharon to stay at the Fairview facility instead of being in jail. Simultaneously, she pondered over the reason Cameron was present there as well; he maintained that her mind was responsible for his presence because she required him.
She made it clear that she no longer required his presence, having become self-reliant. When she reopened her eyes, he was no longer around. It seems plausible that the character he played decided to exit the plot permanently, given Sharon’s struggle with bipolar disorder. There’s a chance that actor Ashby has chosen to depart from the show.
If it’s really so, the actor will undoubtedly be dearly missed for his captivating screen presence. He’s never failed to keep the audience engaged during his performances on the show. Beyond this particular series, he boasts an impressive career spanning numerous other productions.
Among the projects he’s involved with are Melrose Place, Loving, Teen Wolf, Army Wives, Lifeline, Days of Our Lives, and The Gates, plus several others. His film credits include Into the Sun, Prom Night, Wyatt Earp, Night Angle, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil: Extinction, Against the Dark, Iron Man 3, Purple Hearts, and numerous others as well.
