Is This the New Spider-Man Costume We’ve All Been Waiting For?

It’s confirmed that the movie “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to release next summer, but the specific plot details and cast members are still largely unknown, aside from Tom Holland playing our title character. Occasionally, tidbits of information surface from unexpected sources. A user named Chris Higashi happened to be at a Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products presentation in Las Vegas, where they spotted a large display showcasing various upcoming Disney films for 2026. It seems this display may have revealed a sneak peek at Peter Parker’s new costume for “Brand New Day”, as depicted below:

As a devoted cinephile, I’m excited about the upcoming Marvel Studios-produced “Brand New Day,” even though Sony Pictures technically holds the film rights for the Spider-Man franchise. However, Disney retains the merchandising rights, so they have a stake in this production. If the rumors are true and this is our new Spidey suit, it’s as classic and Marvel Comics-accurate as we’ve ever seen on the big screen. It bears a striking resemblance to the DIY Spider-Man costume Peter made at the end of “No Way Home,” albeit with darker shades instead of the brighter blues. Yet, it seems they’re maintaining the overall look of that suit.

In the original post, it was mentioned that the presentation featured images of Spider-Man’s enemies Scorpion, Tombstone, and Boomerang. You might recall that Michael Mando, known for his role in Better Call Saul, played Mac Gargan in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming. This implies it’s high time they follow up on this tease and have him transform into Scorpion. Tombstone was introduced in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which is set in a different continuity, suggesting how Marvel and Sony might handle the character. Boomerang, while not a major villain in Spidey’s rogues’ gallery, could potentially serve as an entertaining sidekick. If these characters indeed appear, Brand New Day seems more focused on street-level action rather than multiversal events, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31, 2026.
