Is Sydney Sweeney Joining the MCU to Steal Zendaya’s Spider-Man?

As a gamer with years of experience under my belt, immersed in the vibrant world of superheroes and blockbuster cinema, I can’t help but feel a thrill at the prospect of Sydney Sweeney joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Having followed both Sweeney’s and Zendaya’s careers closely, it’s fascinating to see their journeys intertwining in this way.

Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya are currently two of the most buzzed-about young actresses. They’ve both left an impression on audiences in HBO’s successful drama series Euphoria, which was developed by Sam Levinson, and they’ve each dived into the superhero universe.

Although Zendaya has previously starred in MCU’s Spider-Man movies, there are whispers that Sweeney could make his Marvel universe debut alongside Zendaya in the near future.

Sydney Sweeney played Julia Cornwall, or Spider-Woman, in the film Madame Web produced by SSU. Despite its poor box office performance and financial losses, as well as doubts about a sequel, it’s been reported that Sweeney met with executives from Marvel Studios shortly after the release. It’s rumored that she could be chosen to play Black Cat in the MCU, possibly appearing in Spider-Man 4. However, this is all just speculation at this point.

Fans are expressing worry that Sweeney’s Black Cat character may develop a romantic connection with Spider-Man in the storyline, which could add complexity to Peter Parker’s romantic situation with MJ portrayed by Zendaya. However, it is important to note that while this “romantic rivalry” occurs within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Zendaya and Tom Holland are actually in a relationship off-screen.

In “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, Mary Jane (MJ) was one of the individuals who no longer recalled Peter Parker following Doctor Strange’s enchantment. This situation resulted in their relationship ending, as MJ found new opportunities, including being admitted to MIT, and moved forward in her life.

Introducing a new love interest for Spider-Man becomes more plausible now that their relationship has changed. Given that Spider-Man and Black Cat have a long history of intricate, on-and-off romance in the comics since the 70s, it seems organic to delve into this dynamic within the MCU.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve found myself daydreaming about stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside my pals Tom Holland and Zendaya. With fingers crossed, I can only hope that one day I’ll embody the enigmatic character of Black Cat!
