On April 22, the Canadian musician was spotted grinning while carrying a tray of beverages beside Maro following a coffee break in the Los Feliz district. Throughout their casual outfits, they walked side by side, looking carefree and deeply involved in a conversation.
On two separate occasions now, Shawn and Maro have been observed together in the Los Angeles region. The DailyMail reported that they were together for a low-key coffee date just last week as well. You might recognize Maro, whose birth name is Mariana Brito da Cruz Forjaz Secca, as she represented Portugal in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Additionally, she has built a fanbase through her YouTube channel after studying music in the United States.
Six months ago, Shawn Mendes revealed his sexuality during his For Friends and Family Tour in Colorado. In October 2024, he spoke candidly to the crowd, acknowledging the ongoing speculation about his sexuality: “For so long, people have been talking about it, but the truth is, I’m just as confused as everyone else about my life and my sexuality.” He’s still figuring things out.

Shawn expressed that composing the song held significant meaning for him, as it provided an opportunity for him to express the subject matter in a personal, heartfelt manner. Moreover, he mentioned his desire to connect more with people while staying true to himself.
