As a long-time observer of the British Royal Family, I find myself deeply moved by the current situation between King Charles, Prince Harry, and Prince William. Having followed their lives closely, it is heartbreaking to see such a division within the family, especially now when they should be united during difficult times.
Prince Harry recently returned to the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of his uncle, Robert Fellowes. During this time, he was present with other members of the royal family at the event. While there, the Duke of Sussex found himself near his brother, Prince William, and King Charles.
Despite not starting a dialogue with the Duke of Cornwall, Prince Harry harbors hopes for reconciling with his father. His last encounter with the reigning monarch was in February, following the announcement of the latter’s cancer diagnosis. It was then that the sovereign disclosed to his sons the details of his health situation privately.
According to Dan Wooton’s interview with InTouch Weekly, he mentioned that although the father and son haven’t been communicating much, the king expressed worry following the cancellation of Prince Harry’s Netflix agreement.
According to Wooton’s statement, Charles expresses worry that Harry might lose the Netflix deal and subsequently request financial aid during their planned reunion with his son, given this scenario. Simultaneously, it was reported that these concerns arise from Charles’ current cancer treatment, which has left him feeling physically drained.
King Charles III has been facing pressure from multiple sources, including the Archbishop who urges him to make peace with his son, Prince Harry. According to a confidant of Prince Harry, “Phone calls have not been responded to, and the face-to-face meeting planned after his cancer announcement was shifted from Sandringham to Clarence House for a brief duration, allowing only about 30 minutes between Charles and Harry.”
In addition to their conversation, Wooton mentioned that having Prince Harry around is crucial for King Charles’s swift recovery, as he explained. According to the royal journalist, Charles, under the wise guidance of Camilla in recent months, has finally understood that dealing with Harry could hinder his healing process.
Currently, the tension between Princes William and Harry remains unresolved and is apparent to many. This discord started when Harry chose to relinquish his royal responsibilities in 2020, leaving England for California with Meghan Markle and their children.
