Having grown up watching its predecessor, That ’70s Show, I fondly remember the charm, humor, and warmth it brought to my childhood.

The ’90s show, which ran for just two seasons on Netflix, has sadly come to an end. Star Kurtwood Smith announced this news on social media and expressed his appreciation to the fans for their support and affection towards the series.

On Thursday, October 3, I hopped onto my Instagram account and addressed the curiosity surrounding the next season of our cherished series. I had to share the truth: regrettably, the show hasn’t been renewed as yet.

He went on to express his heartfelt gratitude to the fans who shared their support and have seen the series. The actor shared that they have come up to him in “random parts of the world” where he traveled and reached out to him through social media and have just “been wonderful.”

The actor stated, “I’ve cherished every second of embodying Grandpa Red for you all. I’ve expressed this sentiment before, but it’s worth repeating…this production was filled with genuine emotion and an exceptional team of actors, writers, directors, producers, and crew that any performer would be fortunate to collaborate with.

Once more, Kurtwood expressed his heartfelt appreciation towards the audience, who graciously allowed his character and Kitty, as well as the entire ensemble from that ’70s show, to amuse them for an impressive span of two seasons.

He continued, “To steal Red Forman’s words…we aren’t going to be dumbasses…we will shop the show, because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school.”

Regarding the original cast members of “That ’70s Show”, actors such as Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Seth Green, Topher Grace, Wilmer Valderrama, and Laura Prepon have all returned to their roles in the spin-off series “That ’90s Show”.

In addition to that, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Sam Morelos, Maxwell Acee Donovon, Kira Kosarin, Reyn Doi, Mace Coronel, and numerous others were featured in the Netflix series. The premiere of this show was broadcasted on January 19, 2023.

Unlike the Netflix series, “That ’70s Show” had a longer run. Spanning over eight seasons, the program is still fondly remembered by many online, who often discuss their favorite scenes from it.
