I’m absolutely terrified by it, and that seems like a great place to start.” Fear is a powerful emotion, and when projects don’t ignite that feeling in her, Gerwig expressed that it might be time to reconsider. Yet, the prospect of directing “Narnia” left her petrified by its extraordinary nature.

Toward the end of the year, Netflix Films chairman Scott Stuber disclosed that Greta Gerwig had joined the Narnia series team during a chat about his camaraderie with Gerwig and her spouse, Noah Baumbach, who’s also a filmmaker. According to Variety, Stuber emphasized Gerwig’s past achievements and her Christian upbringing as significant factors in considering her for the director role.
