As a die-hard Marvel fan with years of comics under my belt, the prospect of Michael B. Jordan reprising his electrifying role as Erik Killmonger sends shivers down my spine! The chemistry between him and Chadwick Boseman was electric, and their performances left an indelible mark on the MCU.
There’s chatter suggesting that Michael B. Jordan, who debuted as Erik Killmonger in the 2018 film Black Panther, might be set to reappear in one of Marvel’s future Avengers films, with speculation leaning towards either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
In a captivating yet vengeful role, Michael B. Jordan shone as Killmonger in Marvel’s films. Facing off against the late Chadwick Boseman, Jordan quickly won over fans as an exceptional supervillain. Their performances together were among the most remarkable in Marvel’s history. According to The Cosmic Circus, there are rumors that Michael B. Jordan may return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), potentially bringing some intriguing twists into play.
In a December Q&A on Discord with Alex Perez, it was hinted that there’s a rumor circulating which caught my attention and might be worth sharing here: It is possible that Michael B. Jordan could reappear in one of the future Avengers movies.
In a thrilling confrontation against T’Challa (played by Boseman), Jordan’s character perished. However, he resurfaced in different manifestations. Initially, this was seen in an alternate scenario in What If…?, and later on as part of the Ancestral Plane during Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Before Black Panther’s role was assumed by Shuri (Letitia Wright), there were many rumors about Erik Killmonger potentially returning, possibly as a reformed character. However, this didn’t happen in the storyline.
Earlier, Jordan mentioned during an interview with Extra TV that he’d be open to reprising his role within the MCU. He stated, “I can’t say it’s definite, but being part of the Marvel Universe was a dream come true for me, and if there’s ever another chance, I certainly wouldn’t turn it down.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share the news that it seems Michael B. Jordan might be joining the roster of Marvel Universe comebacks, notably in Avengers: Doomsday. This list also includes Victor Von Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., who starred as Iron Man; Chris Evans, the Captain America himself; Hayley Atwell, reprising her role as Peggy Carter; and many more.
