As a die-hard fan of the Marvel universe, I can’t help but feel like I’m on a rollercoaster ride with the Blade project. The anticipation is palpable, especially with Mahershala Ali stepping into the iconic role and Mia Goth as Lilith. However, the delays and behind-the-scenes drama have left us all hanging.
It’s common knowledge that the Marvel Studios project titled “Blade” has generated a lot of excitement, with Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali taking on the lead role. However, this project is in an unusual stage of development, and it remains unclear how things will unfold or when (or even if) we’ll get to watch Mahershala Ali as Blade on the big screen.
As a dedicated gamer eagerly anticipating my role as the titular antihero, I’m thrilled to share that Mia Goth has joined the cast as Lilith. While there’s been a bit of turmoil behind the scenes with changes and rewrites, it seems the movie has faced some challenges, leading some to label it as being in developmental limbo. Fingers crossed it gets off the ground soon, because truth be told, I can’t wait for the fans to experience this journey!
For now, Blade made another appearance on screen thanks to Wesley Snipes, the original Blade, taking up his role in the newly-released “Deadpool & Wolverine”. This cameo was spectacular and received much praise from fans, leading to widespread discussion about an upcoming Blade film online.
While contemplating the future of the character, we’ve developed an intriguing hypothesis. This theory is rooted in various whispers spreading online and the enthusiastic demands voiced by fans across social media platforms. Given that Marvel seems to be holding back on Blade, it makes us wonder if their secret motive could be to persuade Snipes to reprise his role for another Blade film?!
There’s a strong indication that it could happen, based on the overwhelmingly positive responses to Snipes’ potential return and the general consensus among fans that they want him back in the role. Various ideas have been floated, ranging from Snipes reprising his role permanently within the franchise, to a final movie dedicated solely to Blade that would serve as a fitting conclusion to the original trilogy’s storyline.
Despite Snipes claiming he wasn’t considering replacing Mahershala Ali, there’s talk about an “Old Man Blade” film, which Ryan Reynolds has also mentioned. Fans seem eager for this too. The original Blade trilogy didn’t fare well, but given Snipes’ popularity, we think there could be potential for such a movie.
The challenges include Snipes’ advanced age, his hesitation about reprising the role long-term, past set problems he’s encountered, and the complications it might cause for Marvel in the future. Unlike Snipes, Ali could serve as a permanent option for Marvel. Choosing to build a franchise around Ali instead of one Snipes film could be a significant risk for the company, potentially jeopardizing its future prospects.
As someone who has been following the action genre for decades, I firmly believe that producing both Ali’s Blade series and a final Snipes film would be a brilliant move. The richness of the characters and the captivating storylines have always resonated with me, and I can confidently say that fans like myself would eagerly anticipate both projects. Given my extensive experience in this field, I am certain that audiences would be thrilled to see these iconic characters return to the big screen once more.
