According to recent reports by Jeff Sneider, it’s being suggested that Kathleen Kennedy will resign as the president of Lucasfilm in August.
Kathleen Kennedy addressed rumors at Star Wars Celebration
It’s possible that Sneider may not have received the update, but it’s notable that Kathleen Kennedy spoke about the rumors of her departure from Star Wars during Star Wars Celebration Japan this past weekend.
At a press event, she specifically said, “I’m not retired. I’m not going anywhere.”
Ebaster inquired from Kathleen Kennedy regarding the discrepancy between conversations within the studio and information disclosed to fans, with Kennedy assuring that she consistently speaks the truth.
Concerning Star Wars Celebration, Kennedy played a significant role and graced the stage during the presentation titled “The Mandalorian & Grogu“.

Supposed to be leaving by the end of the year
In February, rumors began circulating that she would be stepping down from Lucasfilm and Star Wars by the end of the year.
Kennedy promptly refuted the allegation, declaring that she would resign voluntarily.

We have a fantastic pool of talent here, and we plan to make an announcement about this, either within the next few months or a year. We are all on the same page about what that will entail… carefully considering with Bob and Alan who might take over the role.

The same reports suggested that Kathleen Kennedy’s retirement would be announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan, but instead, it was clarified that she is not retiring and has no plans to leave. Time will tell.
