For years, I’ve been captivated by the inspiring story of Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E. Laine, the mother-daughter duo behind Two Chicks and a Hammer. Their unique blend of creativity, determination, and hard work has transformed countless homes in Indianapolis and beyond.
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all as a devoted fan! The beloved HGTV series, Good Bones, is set to make a splash once more in the form of a unique limited return. After wrapping up its impressive eight-season journey in 2023, the mother-daughter duo, Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E. Laine, will be back together for another installment later this summer. So mark your calendars and get ready to join us once again on this home renovation adventure!
What will the limited-time season be about?
In the upcoming season of “Good Bones” by Two Chicks and a Hammer, the story continues as Renovation duo, Starsiak Hawk, revitalizes an old lake house north of Indianapolis, aiming to create their perfect family retreat. Simultaneously, Laine embarks on her own project using retirement funds to convert a 120-year-old bungalow in Wilmington, North Carolina, into a lively beach hideaway.
In the first episode, lasting 90 minutes, we’ll follow Starsiak Hawk as she tackles the lake house renovation. For the next two episodes, each an hour long, the spotlight shifts to Laine and his bungalow project. Although they stepped down from their business in 2019, Laine continued contributing to the show until its end in 2023, primarily focusing on DIY projects.
In August 2023, Starsiak Hawk revealed that Good Bones would conclude with its eighth season. She was thankful and proud to have produced a show for the past eight years that generally reflected her true self for the vast majority of its run.
When will the new season come?
Beginning August 14th, every Wednesday for three weeks, Good Bones premieres with a 90-minute episode at 9/8c on HGTV. Subsequent episodes will last two hours each. In the meantime, consider revisiting all eight seasons of Good Bones on Max before their latest addition.
