First Steps,” director Matt Shakman sets the record straight.

Over the summer, during Comic-Con, it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. would portray Doctor Doom in the films “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars.

What do the rumors say?

It’s been suggested that Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom could potentially hail from the same parallel reality as the Fantastic Four.

It’s additionally reported that the post-credits scene from The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been leaked on the internet, featuring no one else but Doom.

To clarify, following Shakman’s statements, I should mention that neither his film nor responsibilities include these matters.

In a parallel fashion to how the “New Avengers” post-credit scene for Thunderbolts was filmed by the Russo brothers during the set of Avengers: Endgame, the after-credits scene for The Fantastic Four could also have been directed in a similar manner.

It’s not too shocking that Doctor Doom might show up in the post-credits scene of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” since Marvel has already revealed the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” and hinted at a connection to “Thunderbolts“. This could suggest that Doctor Doom is playing a role in both series.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets released July 25. Tickets on sale tomorrow.
