As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast who’s spent countless nights huddled under blankets while watching zombie apocalypse movies, I can’t help but be intrigued by the enigma that is the 28 Years Later trailer. The eerie silence, the haunting visuals, and the tantalizing glimpse of a figure that bears an uncanny resemblance to none other than Cillian Murphy – it’s enough to make any zombie-loving heart race!
The preview for the movie titled “28 Years Later” has been released, leaving many horror enthusiasts intrigued yet puzzled. The fascination arises from the trailer’s sparse details about its storyline. Surprisingly, we don’t get to hear any dialogues between the main characters, and yet it’s exceptionally well-done. However, the perplexity stems from a fleeting appearance of an infected individual in a field. Previously, there were rumors that Cillian Murphy would reprise his role as Jim in “28 Years Later“. But in the trailer, we don’t see him at all… or do we? Could it be possible that Cillian Murphy is actually the zombie sitting amidst a field of flowers in the “28 Years Later” trailer? It’s not implausible.
As a dedicated fan of the 28 Years Later series, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Cillian Murphy’s return as Jim. However, to my surprise, he’s not officially listed on the poster for the upcoming movie. But here’s an intriguing twist: in the film’s trailer, there’s a brief glimpse of a zombie rising from a field filled with yellow flowers, and it bears a striking resemblance to Cillian Murphy. No one from the cast or crew has confirmed this yet, but I’m speculating that his appearance might just be as a zombie in a cameo role. It’s been 28 years since we last saw Jim, Selena, and Hannah, so it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for something to happen to any of them. If that undead figure is indeed Cillian Murphy, then perhaps we have our final confirmation that he faced…something during those long years.
But there’s also comic precedent that could bleed over into this film and explain why Jim is a zombie in 28 Years Later. In BOOM! Studios 28 Days Later comic series that follows Selena, Jim is captured and sentenced to execution for all the deaths at Major Henry West’s compound. Hannah goes to live a “normal” life with a new family, so Selena goes off on her own to continue surviving. Maybe Cillian Murphy’s role in 28 Years Later is simply to appear as a zombie Jim. I find it to be hilarious personally but that’s just me.
