At a recent event for “The Electric State,” Chris Pratt addressed the speculation about Star-Lord’s possible comeback in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As Marvel Studios prepares for the much-awaited Avengers film, there’s a lot of buzz about which characters might reappear, with many fans excitedly looking forward to Chris Pratt’s comeback as Star-Lord.
At the red carpet event for Netflix’s The Electric State at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre, Deadline inquired about Pratt potentially reprising his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and collaborating with the Russo brothers once more.
As a devoted admirer, I must share that though the star of Guardians of the Galaxy hinted at enjoying the speculation, he chose not to confirm any details. When inquired if he would return for the next Marvel film, a prospect fans eagerly anticipate, he maintained silence. However, his smile and words, “I know… I know,” seemed to echo with understanding and perhaps, hope.
In a recent development, Joe Russo – one of the co-directors of Avengers: Doomsday, hinted that the upcoming film might not have many recurring characters. Yet, he emphasized that this is not a definite rule, implying there’s still a chance for brief appearances from previous Marvel heroes. Excitingly, Russo hinted that any character within the Marvel universe could make an appearance.
Among the intriguing revelations concerning forthcoming Avengers films is one that surfaced last year at Comic-Con: Marvel unveiled Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback, but this time not as Iron Man, instead as the legendary antagonist Doctor Doom. Amidst persistent speculation about guest appearances from other MCU series, viewers anxiously await the possibility of Star-Lord’s arrival.
Although Chris Pratt hasn’t explicitly stated whether he’s part of Avengers: Doomsday, he is presently starring in The Electric State on Netflix, which is helmed by the Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe). This movie boasts a high-profile cast, including Millie Bobby Brown, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Colman Domingo, Jenny Slate, among others.
The Electric State premieres on Netflix on March 14, 2025.
