Is Cartoon Network Website Visitors Being Redirected To Max Streaming Services? Here’s What We Know

As a long-time devotee of Cartoon Network, this recent development has left me reeling like a Road Runner caught off guard by Wile E. Coyote’s latest scheme! The prospect of losing access to my beloved Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, and so many other shows that have been an integral part of my daily life is almost too much to bear.

As someone who has been a long-time fan of Cartoon Network, I was quite surprised to find myself directed to a new page about Max, the subscription streaming service from Warner Bros., earlier this week. Having grown up with shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe, it’s always been a big part of my life, so this change caught me off guard. It happened on Thursday, August 8, which was just another reminder that things are constantly evolving in the entertainment industry. I guess I’ll have to check out Max and see what it has to offer!

As an enthusiastic fan, I’m excited to share that the fresh new page invites us to join Max, where we can catch our beloved Cartoon Network shows. Moreover, by subscribing, we can establish a Kid’s Profile tailored with age-appropriate ratings and privacy settings for a safe and enjoyable experience for kids! So far, that’s what I’ve gathered about this exciting development.

On the official site, you’ll find this statement: “Are you seeking episodes of your preferred Cartoon Network series?” It subsequently guides you to Max, implying: “Explore the shows available for streaming on Max (a subscription is needed).”

The representative from Cartoon Network shared that they’re concentrating on platforms that show greater audience interaction and opportunities for expansion. In an interview with Variety, they said, “We’re putting our efforts into Cartoon Network programs and social media where we notice consumers are the most involved, and there is a significant chance for development.”

Cartoon Network plans on airing 11 hours worth of programming daily, starting from 6 a.m. and running up until 5 p.m. on television. Previously, their website provided full episodes and highlights of hit series such as Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans GO!, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, and Clarence. Additionally, it offered free games linked to these popular shows.

2022 saw Warner Bros. Discovery making a significant move by combining their animation studios, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. However, towards the end of that year, they made a decision to take off classic Warner Bros. cartoons from Max. This removal included hundreds of Looney Tunes episodes and close to 80 episodes of The Flintstones.

Initially, there was a misunderstanding last year suggesting that Looney Tunes and The Looney Tunes Show would be removed from the service. However, it was later confirmed by The Verge that this was an error in the listing.

Discovery is making an effort to reduce expenses and increase the number of subscribers for its service, Max. Similarly, companies like Paramount Global have taken steps this year to eliminate certain content from channels like Comedy Central and MTV News in a bid to attract more viewers.

On August 9th, Warner Bros. Discovery announced a drop in their revenue and a substantial financial loss, largely attributed to a decreased worth of their cable television networks. Although the number of domestic streaming subscribers dipped slightly, the number of international streaming subscribers grew.
