Elsbeth has been officially brought back for season 3. Carrie Preston is likely to come back as a peculiar lawyer in the upcoming episodes, sparking excitement among fans about her return on-screen. The announcement that the show will continue airing on the network was made public by Deadline.

Since 2009, when she made a special appearance on the Emmy-winning series The Good Wife, the actress has taken on the character of Elsbeth Tascioni. Fans of the actress from Claws were thrilled when she reprised her role in the sequel, The Good Fight, in 2017, as it suggested that this movie star was not planning to retire any time soon.

Regarding the TV series, Elsbeth is back on CBS once more, but the network hasn’t disclosed any additional cast members yet. Interestingly, Carra Patterson, known for portraying NYPD officer Kaya Blanke, has announced her departure from the show.

This month, the actress talked with Deadline and disclosed the cause for her departure from the highly-rated series. Patterson explained, “My character, Kaya Blanke, is setting off on a fresh journey as the plot unfurls, and I’m thrilled to do the same myself.

She also mentioned, “We’ll reunite with Kaya soon—you’ll discover what she’s been doing in her new detective role in the upcoming season when I return as a guest star alongside Carrie and Wendell.” The actress then expressed her appreciation to the team for their affectionate support.

In an interview, the True Blood actress, Preston, mentioned that her role in The Good Fight allowed her to slip into a lawyer’s coat. Before the show’s debut, she shared, “The character is simply mouth-watering. I have significant creative control over her, and there’s a sense of familiarity since I’ve portrayed her for so long. I was eager to experience what it would be like to take center stage instead of being a supporting character.

Towards the close of season 2, audiences saw Kaya get promoted to work as a covert operative. Earlier, the show’s producer had hinted that although Kaya’s character wouldn’t appear daily, she would remain within the same storyline or setting.
