As a lifestyle enthusiast, I regret to share that unfortunately, we won’t get to watch the next chapter of Girls5eva, as it has been taken off Netflix’s schedule for future releases, according to Deadline. It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time the series, where Busy Philipps and others shine, has faced such a setback.
If you’re new here, let me fill you in: The series debuted on Peacock back in 2021 and had a second season before being taken off by NBCUniversal’s streaming platform. However, fans were able to watch its third season thanks to Netflix. Regrettably, the show has now been discontinued.
As reported by Deadline, Busy Philipps talked about the termination of the show during her podcast. Later on, Netflix officially announced that there would be no Season 4 available on their streaming service.
On her podcast “Doing Her Best,” the actress candidly expressed that the series “Girls5eva” might be over. She stated this bluntly, using strong language, and suggested it was because Netflix may not have found it successful, or perhaps viewers didn’t engage with it enough for it to be officially recognized. She concluded, expressing her uncertainty, “I don’t know. I actually just don’t know.
Philipps explained, “Netflix hasn’t declared it’s dead, but since the arrangement for its move to Peacock only covered the third season, they don’t have to comment on anything beyond that. Moreover, she mentioned that there’s no predefined timeline for any future decisions.
As an ardent fan, I’ve always wondered about the inner workings of TV shows. Usually, when an actor signs up for a show, there’s an agreement that ensures they’re informed by a certain date if the series will go on. If it doesn’t, we fans know that our favorite stars can chase other roles as top priority. Yet, in this particular case, such an arrangement wasn’t set up, leaving us all guessing!
In simpler terms, the actor from White Chicks added, “I believe we’d all love to take on more roles in any way possible. For instance, a series like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or a fourth and potentially last season would be fantastic, but I feel it might not happen.
