As a long-time fan of both Marvel and That ’70s Show, I was genuinely thrilled to see Debra Jo Rupp grace the screen as Mrs. Hart in WandaVision. Her character added a delightful touch to Wanda’s fantasy world, and her transition into the coven in Agatha All Along was intriguing.
In the initial installments of “Agatha All Along“, several characters from “WandaVision” reappeared, including Debra Jo Rupp, who played Sharon Davis, a character known as “Mrs. Hart” in Wanda’s imaginative universe from the show “That ’70s Show“. In episode two, Agatha enlisted Mrs. Davis to join her coven due to her gardening skills, believing they could pass as Green Witches and gain entry to the Witches’ Road. Surprisingly, this plan worked! However, the situation soon turned chaotic because it appears that “Mrs. Hart” is deceased in “Agatha All Along“. Let’s delve into the events that unfolded.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Davis’ journey along the Witches’ Road didn’t last long due to her inexperience with magical trials. Her misadventures began at the start of episode three when she strayed from the road and found herself nearly drowning in some ominous black tar. Despite being repeatedly addressed as “Mrs. Hart,” a name given by Wanda, instead of her real name Sharon Davis, the coven rescued her. As they ventured towards a mysterious beach house, she accompanied them.
Within a house resembling a typical upper-middle-class suburban residence seen on TV shows, the coven experiences their initial ordeal—the test of potions. They share a bottle of wine, unbeknownst to them, it’s laced with poison. Poor Sharon is the first to drink, and her face rapidly inflates to an absurd size, giving her the appearance of a botched plastic surgery case from the show ‘Botched’. The rest of the coven then rush to concoct an antidote within a limited timeframe, barely managing it. As Sharon collapses, they administer the antidote with mere seconds to spare.
The witches exited the house and slid back to the Witch’s Path, where one by one they emerged from the slide, except for Sharon. Following the commotion, everyone realized that Sharon was lifeless on the ground. However, it’s puzzling because her body appeared to move after she received the antidote, indicating that it might have worked. Moreover, we never saw her body going down the slide; instead, the rest of the witches were visible. It seems as if the Witch’s Road may be causing some mysterious interferences among the coven.
Although Sharon Davis may indeed be deceased, it seems her presence continues to linger in the show “Agatha All Along.” If she perished on the Witches’ Road, one might argue that she’s now an integral part of this mysterious realm. It could also transpire that she reappears as a symbol or avatar for the coven during subsequent trials. Frankly, we doubt they’d introduce Debra Jo Rupp only to take her away so soon. Whether alive or not, it appears Sharon Davis (Mrs. Hart) is bound to make a comeback on “Agatha All Along.” However, I wouldn’t be surprised if she regrets ever accepting Agatha’s invitation to the party.
