I can picture myself, sitting in a theater, popcorn in hand, eagerly waiting to witness the teenage years of these iconic characters unfold on the big screen.

Fans of Rocky can now rejoice! Sylvester Stallone has hinted at a new prequel for the beloved boxing saga. Although this isn’t the first time that the actor known for his role as Rambo has given fans a glimpse into his plans for a Rocky prequel, he has recently shared some details about the next installment in the sports-themed series.

On the Inspire Me podcast, Sylvester Stallone shared his plans for shaping the upcoming project.

Speaking about it, the Rocky prequel holds a special place close to my heart, as this is where my journey began, an actor known for movies like Escape Plan, Over The Top, among others.

Additionally, during the interview, Stallone hinted that the prequel wouldn’t only delve into Rocky Balboa’s life before the 1976 film but would also explore some familiar faces from the movie.

Viewers are in store for an exciting experience as they may delve into the lives of two characters: Paulie, played by Burt Young, and Adrian, portrayed by Talia Shire. According to the actor from Bullet to the Head, these characters will be in their teenage years. Specifically, Rocky is 17, while Paulie is moving into a new neighborhood.

Sylvester Stallone mentioned that this venture would bear a resemblance to the beloved Disney story, Lady and the Tramp, but instead of animated creatures, real-life people would take their places in the narrative.

Previously, ardent enthusiasts of the boxing franchise were filled with anticipation when Stallone hinted at a potential Rocky prequel by sharing a hand-scrawled plot outline on his social media platforms.

In the year 2021, the creator behind the Rocky series posted on Instagram a photo suggesting that the prequel could potentially unfold as a series.

In six of his self-produced movies and two additional films called “Creed” featuring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone portrayed the beloved boxer character, Rocky Balboa.

Discussing the Creed film series, it’s worth noting that the third installment did not feature Sylvester Stallone as he decided to step away from portraying Rocky Balboa. At present, a fourth Creed movie is in development, along with discussions about a spinoff series. However, there’s currently no indication that Stallone will reprise his role as Rocky Balboa on screen again.
