In the forthcoming Marvel series titled Ironheart, Dominique Thorne will reprise her character as Riri Williams. Previously, Thorne had a brief on-screen appearance as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film highlighted how Shuri and Okoye tracked down Williams, who successfully created a device capable of detecting vibranium through various materials.
In the upcoming series, the actress will once again take on her character’s role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe shifts to Chicago, where a young prodigy named Riri is crafting new iron suits. According to the show’s official summary, “Riri Williams invents an advanced suit of armor, comparable only to Iron Man’s.
In simpler terms, you won’t find the origins of Riri’s story in “Wakanda Forever” because the actress has revealed to The Wrap that the film places us directly into her personal journey.
In the continuation of her interview, Thorne explained that this particular encounter was propelling her from a familiar realm where she felt at ease into multiple realms that were unfamiliar to her.
I acknowledged, “However, I must confront this reality, for it’s my own aspirations that have unwittingly fashioned the situation these individuals find themselves in, myself among them.
At the start of the trailer, viewers find Riri trapped inside an elevator. As she presses the buttons helplessly, a voiceover informs her that in roughly 3 minutes, the air within the lift will become unbreathable. Williams queries, “What is this?” to which the voice replies, “Your interview. You’ll asphyxiate and perish unless you shatter the gadget on the floor.
