Invincible Creator Hints Darkest Era Yet with Mark’s New Blue and Black Suit

As a dedicated follower and avid reader of the Invincible comics, I have eagerly anticipated each new season with bated breath. The reveal of Mark Grayson’s iconic blue and black suit in Season 3 is a significant moment for me because it signifies the darkest and most intense phase of his journey as Invincible, as teased by creator Robert Kirkman.

As a dedicated fan following the storyline of Invincible, I’m thrilled to share that Season 3 is promising a dark turn for Mark Grayson. After going through some tough times since the finale of Season 2, he’s now faced with the daunting revelation of his new blue and black Viltrumite suit. The challenges ahead are immense as he grapples with the potential for violence and darkness within himself. But that’s just the beginning, as the creator hints at an even darker era unfolding for Mark with this pivotal suit reveal.

Invincible shares Mark’s iconic blue and black suit

At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Invincible unveiled a sneak peek of Season 3. Fans got their first glimpse of Mark in his iconic blue and black attire from the source material. Creator Robert Kirkman hinted that this stage of Mark’s adventure, as Invincible, would mirror the comics closely, known for being the darkest and most gripping period in Mark’s transformation.

As we move into our third season, it felt appropriate to introduce a fresh Mark character, given his experiences in Season 2. This new version of him has undergone a change, which is evident in his updated costume. Fans of the comic book series will recognize this as the period when ‘Invincible’ dons his blue suit, an era known for its darkness and intensity. There are some significant events associated with this blue suit that we have planned.

Regarding the developments in Invincible Season 3, Kirkman hinted at an intensification without giving too much away. He added, “Season 2 saw an increase in the intensity of what was set up in Season 1. The risks were greater, things became more chaotic, and there were several plotlines suggesting larger stories to come. In Season 3, these larger stories begin to unfold.”

1. If the show continues to follow the events from the Invincible comics, it seems Mark is in for some challenging times ahead. So far, no release date or window has been set for Season 3, but there’s an announcement for Season 4 of the series.

Kirkman previously mentioned to Variety that work for Season 3 was ongoing even during Season 2, resulting in a shorter wait time compared to the gap between the first two seasons. In other words, he expressed his appreciation for split seasons since they allowed them to work on both seasons at the same time. However, he regretted that they were already deep into Season 3, which meant they couldn’t learn from Season 2 directly, but they were learning how best to adapt the show based on what they had learned so far.

A brief about Invincible

As an unbridled fan, I can’t help but immerse myself in the captivating tale of Invincible! I follow the journey of teenager Mark Grayson as he undergoes a life-altering transformation into a superhero, all while being mentored by none other than my idol, Nolan Grayson – the mightiest hero on Earth, also known as Omni-Man. Balancing personal life with superhero responsibilities proves to be quite a challenge for Mark, and he’s determined to prove that he can live up to his father’s legendary status. The talented Steven Yeun brings Mark Grayson to life on screen, with Sandra Oh portraying his mother and J.K. Simmons embodying his father. The rest of the cast members grace us with their recurring roles, making this series a must-watch for any true fan!

“Invincible, as depicted by Prime Video, is a series inspired by the revolutionary comic books of Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. It centers around Mark Grayson, an ordinary 18-year-old, except for one extraordinary twist – his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero in existence. After the shocking betrayal by his father in Season One, Mark is trying to rebuild his life while dealing with a fresh wave of dangers. At the same time, he grapples with his greatest fear: that he could unknowingly turn into his father.”
