Intergalactic Evil Lord Anime Premieres in April with New Cast Revealed

The animated version of Yomu Mishima’s light novel “I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!” will debut on April 5th. This airing takes place at 2:00 a.m., which is equivalent to April 6th in some regions, as part of Japan’s “Animazing” programming block. The series is adapted from the light novel, which has previously been translated into English by Seven Seas.

In addition to its premiere, several new actors have been unveiled. Shinichirō Miki will lend his voice to Yasushi, the sword mentor of the main character. Yōji Ueda has been cast as Brian Beaumont, a long-serving attendant of the Banfield family. Tetsu Inada will voice Goaz, the leader of a space pirate crew.

In this production, the iconic band Saishū Mirai Shōjo is set to play the introductory melody, and Nagi Fujisaki will lend her voice to the closing number.

The main character, Liam, is voiced by Natsuki Hanae, while Amagi is voiced by Reina Ueda. Additionally, Takehito Koyasu and Ayana Taketatsu are among the cast, playing the roles of Guide and Nias Carlin respectively.

The narrative centers around Liam, who, upon being reborn into a mighty interstellar dynasty, aims to live solely for himself following a sorrowful demise in his previous existence. However, he endeavors to govern with a firm grip, unaware that his choices will foster tranquility and prosperity instead, earning him growing admiration from his subjects.

This anime is helmed by Director Tetsuya Yanagisawa, while the script is penned by Katsuhiko Takayama. The animation is brought to life by Quad, and the music composition is entrusted to Yūsuke Seo and Shun Narita.

The light novel series started getting published in 2018, with the physical edition coming out in 2020 from Overlap. Since then, it’s given rise to a separate light novel series spinoff and a comic book (manga) version, both of which are accessible in English as well.
