As a long-time Marvel enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of the MCU since its inception, I must admit that I find myself both excited and slightly apprehensive about the upcoming Avengers movies. The return of Iron Man, a character whose presence was the very foundation of this universe, is certainly enticing, but the rapid succession of these films seems rather hurried, given the intricate web of storylines that needs to be woven together for a satisfying conclusion.
For quite some time now, there’s been renewed excitement about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to Robert Downey Jr.’s decision to rejoin the franchise. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in these stories, characters, and films. Although it remains to be seen how Marvel will weave together all the storylines now that the MCU has delved into the multiverse, and whether they can create a captivating narrative moving forward, fans are certainly on the edge of their seats, eager for what’s next.
It’s quite surprising that the upcoming Avengers films have been planned rather quickly. Specifically, “Avengers: Doomsday” is slated for release in 2026, followed by “Avengers: Secret Wars” in 2027. Given that these movies haven’t even been scripted yet, this seems like a relatively short span of time.
And while we could, at length, discuss the implications of such a decision, what actually concerns us is – could these movies be delayed at some point? There is time, but it is also very short for the MCU, as the previous saga had been built for more than a decade, while this one seems a bit rushed. A popular and reliable insider might have the answer for you!
It’s not unusual for movies to get delayed. For instance, “Captain America: Brave New World” has been postponed, and “Blade” is stuck in development limbo. Even the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t immune to this, especially since they strive to provide top-notch products, which requires time. Although two and three years might seem like a long wait, it appears that the MCU is planning a condensed version of the Infinity Saga, as these movies seem to be moving at a fast pace.
Indeed, this scenario prompts various queries, one of them being whether these films might get postponed. Interestingly, although the question was posed from a distinct angle by a fan speaking with Alex Perez at Cosmic Circus, the underlying inquiry remains identical. Here’s what Perez shared:
User: Hey there! Is there a possibility that the release of the Avengers films might be pushed back so that ongoing storylines can be concluded before everything reaches its climax in the Avengers?
Alex: Unfortunately, it’s not possible at this moment. Coordinating all the cast members for these movies is quite challenging, and it seems like it’s a one-time opportunity. However, they’re working hard to ensure that the upcoming films and series will have a connection, preparing the characters for the next Avengers installments. The projects I’ve heard are following this strategy include Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, Fantastic Four: The First Steps, Ironheart, Spider-Man, Shang-Chi & Vision. Other characters might be introduced in the upcoming Avengers films like Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Hulk, but for now, I don’t have information about their involvement in these specific stories.

It’s useful information, yet we’re crossing our fingers that this process doesn’t impact the overall excellence of the end result.
