Industry Season 3 Episode 3 Recap: Yasmin Manipulates Sir Henry Muck To Secure Her Own Financial Future

As an ardent fan with a penchant for financial dramas, I must say that Industry Season 3, Episode 3 has left me utterly spellbound! The intricate web of personal and professional struggles among the characters is nothing short of captivating.

Spoiler Alert: The following contains major spoilers for Industry Season 3, Episode 3

In the most recent installment of Industry, several characters grapple with personal challenges and work-related disappointments as they journey to Switzerland for the COP climate summit, where they encounter numerous difficulties.

The episode opens as Muck justifies his actions during a tense phone call, with Eric Tao moderating and attempting to manage the consequences of Lumi’s misstep. Meanwhile, Eric receives a message from Wilhelmina Fassbinder, a senior manager, who appears to present a fresh opportunity for him, but it later becomes clear that this is merely a means for the company to shift responsibility onto him. As a result of Lumi’s disappointing IPO results, other businesses considering partnerships with Pierpoint are hesitant, concerned they might face similar treatment.

Bill Adler, a crucial player in Lumi’s debut, is currently taking a personal break, which essentially means he’s been temporarily suspended from his duties. In his absence, Eric has been assigned to handle Pierpoint’s public image and will attend the climate conference in Switzerland to supervise Lumi’s public appearance. Initially, Yasmin was scheduled to accompany him, but now Robert Spearing, who has valuable knowledge about Lumi’s difficulties, will join her instead.

In the meantime, Harper Stern, previously let go from Pierpoint, is currently employed at FutureDawn. Meanwhile, Petra Koenig, a high-ranking manager at FutureDawn, has had disagreements with her superior, Anna Gearing, and is now planning to establish her own investment company. Petra and Harper are traveling to Switzerland together to attract investors at a conference and divert them from Anna’s upcoming business ventures.

Petra and Harper aim to leave a lasting impression by debuting a fresh investment vehicle called Leviathan. Their strategy involves luring investors away from Anna’s funds, which they initially find challenging but eventually gain momentum in. A significant boost comes when Harper successfully convinces Otto Mostyn of their idea, securing his backing for the fund.

I, being a relentless advocate, grasp the opportunity to retaliate against Eric by creating a stir during the Lumi panel discussion. I openly lambast Lumi’s struggling stock market performance and disclose sensitive company information, which catches the eye of powerful investor Peter Fergusson. This incidentally boosts the credibility of our upcoming fund, Leviathan, with Petra and me receiving backing from influential parties.

While Eric’s efforts to save his career fall flat, resulting in a humiliating run-in with Petra and Harper, Muck finds both his personal and professional life deteriorating. Yasmin manages to convince Muck to part ways with Lumi, which could aid her in managing her own financial troubles. Moreover, she leverages her network to support Harper, adding another layer of complexity to the relationships among Yasmin, Eric, and their new rivals.
