As a passionate fan, I can’t wait to share my excitement about the upcoming TV series centered around the legendary Green Lanterns! This time on the small screen, I’ll get to see the iconic characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart brought to life by the creative minds at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Being a part of the DC Universe (DCU), this show promises to be the third series in the collection that continues to captivate audiences.
In this series, Hal Jordan and John Stewart join forces to tackle an earthbound mystery, reminiscent of the hit show “True Detective.” The narrative takes a detective-like approach, with the duo delving into investigations, deciphering clues, and overcoming obstacles throughout their journey.
The film features Kyle Chandler portraying the character of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre takes on the role of John Stewart. Additionally, Kelly Macdonald is included in the cast for a key supporting part.
There’s been a lot of buzz lately about who could be the main antagonist in the series, but the main storyline still hasn’t been revealed yet. However, industry insider Daniel Richtman hinted on his Patreon that the show is likely to be mature and quite bizarre.

Initially, the plan for the series involved multiple Green Lanterns, but following the takeover of DC Studios by James Gunn and Peter Safran in 2022, the focus was adjusted to concentrate solely on Jordan and Stewart. This change became official in early 2023. The show is being managed by Chris Mundy, recognized for his work on Ozark.
James Hawes, a director known for “Black Mirror”, will handle directing duties for the initial two episodes. The production of this series is set to occur in Los Angeles from February to July 2025. The show will eventually be broadcast on HBO. Titled “Lanterns“, the series consists of eight episodes and contributes to DCU’s larger narrative, Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
