In Case You Missed, Marvel DID Explain Why Ant-Man Didn’t Just Walk Up Thanos’ B–t and End ‘Infinity War’

As a long-time Marvel fan, I must say that the Ant-Man theory about killing Thanos by crawling into his butt has always tickled my funny bone and sparked intrigue. It’s one of those quirky fan theories that keeps the MCU lore alive and well.

Initially making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Ant-Man quickly stole hearts of many viewers, largely thanks to Paul Rudd’s exceptional portrayal. The character’s initial standalone film was successful, with its sequel not falling too far behind; however, the third movie underperformed due to weak writing. Yet, despite a less-than-satisfactory third installment, Ant-Man remains a cherished figure for fans of the MCU.

Given those circumstances, it’s common for fans to revisit some of Ant-Man’s most memorable scenes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though he often served as comic relief, his character had some intriguing moments, and one theory in particular continues to spark interest among fans.

Indeed, as you may have guessed, the theory revolves around Ant-Man eliminating Thanos – specifically, the idea that he could shrink down, enter Thanos’ body, and then grow to a colossal size within to defeat him. Although this concept has long been a source of amusement, Marvel has acknowledged it… which only adds to its peculiarity.

If you’re concerned that there might be a detail overlooked in one of the mainstream MCU productions (movies or series), rest assured. This particular theory was not addressed within these works but instead in the Avengers short film, Avengers: Quantum Encounter, which was shown on Disney’s cruise ship, Disney Wish. The video has since been leaked online and can be viewed here: [link]

In the video, this topic is discussed quite early on, so it’s situated near the start. Here’s a summary of the entire narrative:

Let me tackle the obvious question on everyone’s mind. Some have been suggesting I come up with an ingenious plan to take down Thanos, but honestly, that idea just seems… unsanitary. Moreover, it’s not as simple as it might seem at first glance. So, let me shed some light on the matter…

At that point, Hope interjects, steering the conversation away from the topic at hand. This implies that we haven’t truly uncovered why the plan was abandoned or made so intricate. In other words, Marvel did respond to the theory, but they don’t seem to have a clear explanation, which suggests they’re merely tantalizing us without offering a solid response.
