Imaru Adachi’s ‘Higehiro’ Manga Officially Ends

As a dedicated cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement over the final chapter of Imaru Adachi’s manga adaptation of “Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway,” which graced the pages of the March issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine.

In conclusion, this narrative is a culmination of the storyline from Shimesaba’s light novel series, as the 13th and last installment of the manga will be available on March 24.

In my perspective, the narrative revolves around me, an ordinary office employee, who often finds solace in alcohol to ease my worries. One fateful evening, I cross paths with a rebellious high school girl on the run. She proposes a surprising arrangement – a place to stay in return for companionship that goes beyond friendship. Instead of taking her up on this offer, I extend a safe haven and job opportunity to her. The intriguing romance between us, two unlikely partners, forms the core of this extraordinary romantic comedy.

Beginning in Monthly Shonen Ace magazine in November 2018, Adachi launched his manga. The latest volume, the 12th, came out in October of last year. Concurrently, Shimesaba initiated the series as a web novel back in March 2017.

Starting from 2018, Kadokawa Corporation released a series of light novels adorned with illustrations by booota, culminating with the fifth book in 2021. The English versions of these novels are published by Yen Press, while One Peace Books handles their manga releases within North America.

Viewers may recall the anime series that premiered globally on Crunchyroll in April 2021. The intriguing narrative and touching scenes of this adaptation captured audiences’ attention, both in subtitled versions and the English dubbed one.
