‘I’m The Greatest Champion’: Bobby Bones Responds To Julianne Hough’s Disagreement With His DWTS Win

As a die-hard fan who has followed Bobby Bones’ journey from radio host to Dancing with the Stars champion, I must say his resilience and humility are truly inspiring. Despite Julianne Hough’s less-than-favorable comments about his dancing skills, Bones took it in stride, showing a grace that only a true champion possesses.

2018 “Dancing with the Stars” (DWTS) champion Bobby Bones is voicing his thoughts following Julianne Hough’s public disagreement over his win on the show. On August 18, during a segment of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Hough generated headlines when she responded to a viewer’s question about her least favorite DWTS winner.

During a talk show appearance, country artist Mickey Guyton brought up Bones’ name, causing Hough to momentarily pause before concurring. “I actually share your view,” Hough admitted, “and I believe it’s due to the fan base. It’s all about the audience on that show. He wasn’t the strongest dancer,” Hough concluded.

On Instagram, on August 19th, Bones playfully and proudly replied to Hough’s remarks. He openly acknowledged his less-than-perfect dancing skills and showed appreciation for Hough, whom he’s crossed paths with a couple of times.

The bones seemed unfazed by the criticism, instead commending Hough’s tactful reply. Yet, they playfully poked fun at Mickey Guyton for mentioning their name in the conversation.

Bones confessed, “I was known for being the least graceful dancer, and I’m proud of that fact.” He emphasized, “Believe me, I gave it my all throughout the show’s run, but my dancing abilities were never my strong suit, then or now.” However, he clarified that his triumph encompassed aspects beyond mere dancing prowess.

“You know, it wasn’t some grand force like an empire or something wicked that toppled the dance world’s titan. It was us, the supporters who stood by my side and cast their votes. Together, we triumphed. I may not be the greatest dancer, but I am the ultimate champion, a title earned through your support. I am the people’s man, chosen by you.”

Bones discussed how his win influenced the regulations of the show due to the tremendous fan support. “I wasn’t a great dancer, not even close, but they altered the rules post-my departure because the public’s vote was so impressive,” he explained, alluding to changes implemented by DWTS after his season to ensure a more equitable combination of fan votes and judge ratings.

Regardless of consistently low judge ratings during the competition, Bones ended up sharing the Mirrorball Trophy with dance partner Sharna Burgess.

The main reason for his win was the massive backing he got from his fans. Notably, Milo Manheim, Evanna Lynch, and Alexis Ren were formidable opponents, securing the second, third, and fourth positions in the competition.
