I’m Slytherin

Hero Fiennes Tiffin, known for portraying young Tom Marvolo Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has expressed his enthusiasm about possibly being part of the forthcoming HBO’s Harry Potter project.

This summer, the eagerly awaited remake will start shooting, and rumors suggest that significant characters are being chosen for the cast. In an interview with Us Weekly, Tiffin expressed his desire to join the upcoming series in any role available to him.

He expressed his eagerness by saying, “I’d absolutely welcome the chance to reprise any role in the HBO’s Harry Potter series. Just let them know I’m available if they need me.

Tiffin made clear his allegiance to House Slytherin, expressing, “I couldn’t imagine being anyone else. I’m not just a supporter of Tom Riddle, but also a member of Team Slytherin. If there’s another team, I believe it must be Team Slytherin. I drew my name from the Sorting Hat, and I will remain Slytherin until the end.

Discussions about casting for the HBO reboot are underway, with notable actors rumored for key roles. Janet McTeer, who was nominated for an Oscar, may take on the role of Professor Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu, who’s been Emmy-nominated, could play Professor Severus Snape. It has been confirmed that John Lithgow will portray Professor Albus Dumbledore in this new production.

Sarah Aubrey, HBO’s drama chief, has spoken about the possibility of the original Harry Potter movie cast members reappearing. She explained that the upcoming series aspires to create its unique universe while staying faithful to the movies’ essence. However, when it comes to casting choices, they will prioritize actors who can dedicate themselves to the franchise for a significant period.

After the announcement of the HBO remake, numerous original Harry Potter actors have been questioned about their potential involvement. Daniel Radcliffe, known for his portrayal of Harry Potter in the movies, unequivocally refused to participate in the revamped series, finding it peculiar and preferring to hand over the role. Conversely, Tom Felton, who brought Draco Malfoy to life on screen, has expressed a willingness to reprise his character in some fashion.

Compared to Radcliffe, who played a significant role throughout the Harry Potter movies, Tiffin’s limited screen time in the original films makes his potential return more feasible. He was only present for one brief scene portraying young Tom Riddle and is less closely linked with a central character.

Although it seems unlikely that Hero Fiennes Tiffin will portray Voldemort in the remake, there’s a chance he could be selected for another Slytherin character. His acting skills have evolved over time, potentially enabling him to assume a fresh character without being excessively linked to his past role.
