‘I’m Showing Up Off-Book’: Chris Evans Reveals He Rejected Cue Cards Offered By Ryan Reynolds For Deadpool & Wolverine Monologue

As a dedicated follower who’s been witness to Chris Evans’ illustrious career, I can confidently say that this man never ceases to surprise and delight us. His journey from the star-studded skies of Captain America to the fiery depths of Johnny Storm is a testament to his versatility and commitment to his craft.

Just like the enthusiastic fans, Chris Evans showed equal excitement at the prospect of turning on the “Flame On” mode. Without hesitation, the ex-Captain America agreed when Ryan Reynolds requested him for a surprising appearance in the new Marvel sensation, Deadpool & Wolverine.

In conversation, Chris Evans revealed that Ryan Reynolds suggested the idea, stressing that there’d be no compulsion for him to accept if he wasn’t keen. Yet, Reynolds thought this cameo might be spectacular, offering an opportunity for Evans to revisit a past character.

In this latest appearance, Evans reprised his character as Johnny Storm/Human Torch from Fantastic Four, featured in Deadpool & Wolverine that debuted on July 26. According to him, he was more than willing to oblige anything Reynolds requested due to their established trust and previous partnership in Free Guy. He simply couldn’t resist the opportunity to play Johnny once more, finding the entire experience incredibly enjoyable.

In response, Ryan stated, “If it comes to using cue cards, right?” To which I replied, “Cue cards? I’ll be there without scripts.” I rarely get to speak lines like these. Let me assure you, I am looking forward to every moment of this performance. I’ve got it all memorized.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

As a lifestyle expert, I must confess that, unlike the cue cards provided by Reynolds, I chose to commit his lines to memory and savor each moment. After all, such memorable lines don’t come along too frequently.

Besides his acting career, Chris Evans has teamed up with Jinx, a high-quality dog food brand, for a campaign with the United Service Organizations (USO). Beginning August 1st, Jinx will contribute 5% from Walmart purchases towards supporting military personnel, including the USO Canine Program. Notably, his dog, Dodger, is also a fan of this initiative. Evans shared about Dodger, “He adores it, and that was all I needed to get involved.”

Next, Chris Evans will appear in the upcoming Christmas movie titled “Red One” set for November release, where he’ll join forces with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and J.K. Simmons. In an interview, Evans expressed his excitement, describing it as a playful Spielberg-esque film, which director Jake Kasdan executes exceptionally well.
