During his interview on Kara Swisher’s podcast, the Due Date actor revealed that discussions surrounding AI tend to follow “two lines of thought” or “two paths.

Regarding an actor considering the rise of AI, Robert Downey Jr. shared that he doesn’t dwell on it too deeply due to a full plate in his personal life, instead choosing to focus on his “personal emotional matters.

Downey Jr. expressed trust in Marvel’s leadership, asserting that they wouldn’t choose such a move when he is present or absent.

Instead of emphasizing a scenario where upcoming executives could opt for this choice, Benedict Cumberbatch, the Sherlock Holmes actor, suggested that he would take legal action against every subsequent executive.

In another conversation, the topic was raised that Marvel’s executives might choose an artificial intelligence version of Robert Downey Jr. when he passes away, a notion which Downey emphasized was something his legal team would manage, all while remaining quite active.

Back in 2008, Robert Downey Jr. made his debut as Iron Man, thereby setting the Marvel Cinematic Universe into motion.

Ever since then, the actor has been taking on the role, consistently astonishing fans during the Infinity Saga. Downey Jr.’s character, Tony Stark, reached his end in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, making the ultimate sacrifice by giving up his life to save the universe from Thanos.
