Apple TV has dropped the first trailer for Season 2 of Hijack, the thrilling series with Idris Elba. The new season will have eight episodes, starting January 14, 2026, with a new episode released each week. The finale will air on March 4.
Idris Elba reprises his role as Sam Nelson, the talented negotiator viewers first met in Season 1. He previously resolved a hijacking situation on a flight between Dubai and London.
This season, Nelson finds himself in a tense standoff on a hijacked train in the Berlin subway. He’ll need to talk the situation down to keep the hostages safe, as police on the surface try to rescue everyone. However, Nelson’s direct way of handling things might sometimes conflict with the police’s strategy.

Idris Elba received an Emmy nomination for his work in the first season of the show, which was highly acclaimed and quickly became a hit on Apple TV+. The second season is being produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash from 60Forty Films, alongside George Kay and Jim Field Smith of Idiotlamp Productions. Kay and Field Smith created the series, with Field Smith also directing the majority of the episodes.
