Identical Twins Dylan And Cole Sprouse’s Mom Taught Them To Appear Different As Kids; Here’s How

As a dedicated follower of the Sprouse twins’ journey from their adorable beginnings as babies in Grace Under Fire to their iconic roles in Suite Life of Zack & Cody, I’ve been captivated by their growth and evolution as artists. Having grown up alongside these talented brothers, I’ve witnessed their unique personalities unfold: the fun-loving Dylan with his Beastie Boys spirit, and the quieter, geology-enthused Cole who shares a love for Neil Young.

Twin siblings Dylan and Cole Sprouse, now 32 years old (as of August 4), have been winning hearts since their infant days on screen. Beginning their acting careers at the tender age of six months, they’ve left lasting impressions in shows like Grace Under Fire and their much-loved Disney Channel series, Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Despite Dylan’s exuberant personality and Cole’s leanings towards geology, both have consistently demonstrated exceptional acting skills.

In addition to their famous roles at Disney, the Sprouse twins have become well-known through their individual projects. Although they’ve been following separate paths lately, there’s still a possibility they might work together again. Their success is largely due to their mother, who saw their potential and backed them up all along.

As kids, the Sprouse twins appeared strikingly similar, but their characters were quite distinct. Their drama teacher grandmother, Jonine Booth Wright, foresaw their careers in showbiz when they were mere six-month-olds. In their debut year, these siblings became familiar faces on ABC’s Grace Under Fire, playing Brett Butler’s son Patrick. Since day one, they have shared a close bond, both professionally and personally.

In a 15-minute time difference, Dylan, the older twin, exhibited a more extroverted personality and had an affinity for the Beastie Boys and aspired to be a stuntman like Melanie’s former boyfriend, Spike Silver. Meanwhile, Cole showed a growing interest in geology and preferred Neil Young’s music.

The two individuals shared nothing but their acting abilities. In the movie Big Daddy, Adam Sandler commended the twins for their exceptional acting skills, stating it was so impressive it left him feeling queasy. At seven years old, they both possessed a similar sense of humor that bordered on childishness. When Dylan was asked what he admired about his brother, he quipped, “He’s nuts.” When Cole was questioned the same way, he responded, “Nothing, really. Except he’s quite friendly.”

After making their debuts on the Disney Channel, these child actors became famous for starring in two successful series: The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Suite Life on Deck. Subsequently, they each embarked on individual creative projects, solidifying their status as prominent figures of their generation. For seven seasons, Cole portrayed Jughead Jones on Riverdale (The CW), and more recently, he starred alongside Kathryn Newton in the 2024 horror comedy film Lisa Frankenstein.

Regarding Dylan, he has been featured in romantic movies such as After We Collided, Beautiful Disaster, and its follow-up, Beautiful Wedding. There’s a chance they might work together again in future projects, although they haven’t shared the screen since 2012.

In the July 31st episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Dylan shared his wish to collaborate again with his brother on a future project, however, he mentioned that there are limited suitable roles for twins in the industry. Growing up, both brothers have ventured into different paths in their personal lives. Cole is currently dating model Ari Fournier, while Dylan tied the knot with supermodel Barbara Palvin in Hungary on July 15, 2023.

Despite leading separate lives, the twins maintain a close bond. On Kelly Ripa’s podcast ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa’ in April 2024, Cole referred to his brother and sister-in-law as “wonderful” and “a great match.” Regarding their family plans, Cole mentioned that they are being patient and working things out.

“He implied they would certainly make that move quite soon, which would be great since then my dad wouldn’t keep wondering when I’d take action, right?” He chuckled.
