‘I Will Always Cherish My Time’: The Rookie Star Tru Valentino Shares Farewell Message After Surprise Exit Ahead of Season 7

As a die-hard fan of Tru Valentino, I must say his departure from The Rookie left me feeling like a kid who just lost their favorite toy – heartbroken but hopeful for its return! His journey on the show was nothing short of spectacular, from his humble beginnings as a recurring character to becoming an integral part of the Mid-Wilshire precinct.

Actor Tru Valentino broke his silence following his unexpected departure from ABC’s The Rookie. On August 9, 2024, he shared a touching note on his Instagram Stories. During seasons 4 to 6, he portrayed Officer Aaron Thorsen in the police drama series.

As a former cast member of “The Rookie,” I have to admit that my time on the show will forever hold a special place in my heart. The friendships and relationships I forged during my tenure there are priceless and have added immeasurable value to my life experience. But, as much as I cherish those memories, I am equally excited about what lies ahead. The future is full of possibilities, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next!

He expressed gratitude for having an incredible opportunity over the past three seasons, feeling incredibly fortunate. Before wrapping up, he acknowledged the fans as the best in the world.

He hinted, as he wrapped up, that someone from the past could reappear in the Mid-Wilshire district. For now, he signed off: “This is Officer Thorsen, till we meet again on 7 Adam 19.”

Officer Thorson, known for his popular TikTok presence, is the son of a renowned rap artist who switched his profession to serve as a policeman.

Although Valentino paid a moving farewell, he didn’t explain the reason behind his decision to step down from the show. It was TVLine who initially broke the news about Valentino’s departure from The Rookie, a series launched in 2018. On August 8th, it was confirmed that he wouldn’t be rejoining the cast for the upcoming seventh season of the show.

Initially, the actor made guest appearances in the show during season 4’s episode titled “Five Minutes.” Later on, he was promoted from a recurring role to a regular cast member for seasons 5 and 6. Lately, Valentino has provided his voiceover talents to various animated series such as “Spidey and His Amazing Friends” and “The Croods: Family Tree.”

In October 2018, the television series “The Rookie” debuted on ABC, featuring Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a recently divorced individual who moves to Los Angeles and joins the LAPD at an advanced age, making him the department’s senior-most rookie.

Over the course of seasons 1 through 5, a grand total of 98 episodes have been broadcast. It’s predicted that the show will hit its 100th episode mark during season 6. The main actors are likely to be back for this significant milestone.

In February 2024, Season 6 of the police drama “The Rookie” started airing, and fresh episodes are broadcasted every Tuesday. However, as of now, there’s no set date for the release of Season 7.
