‘I Was Carrying A Giant…’: Jodie Sweetin Reveals The Item She Snuck Away From Fuller House Set

As a lifestyle expert with a knack for Hollywood tales and a penchant for the quirky, I must say Jodie Sweetin‘s antics are nothing short of endearing. Her attempt to sneak away a piece of Fuller House history, albeit unconventional, showcases her deep-rooted affection for the show and the character she played so brilliantly. It’s not every day you hear about an actress trying to steal a TV show prop!

On the Fuller House set, Jodie Sweetin attempted to discreetly take a large souvenir – the Sea Pappy statue located at the foot of the Tanner home steps. Due to its size, it proved challenging to transport the entire figure, so she opted for just the head instead. However, her secret attempt was uncovered!

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this amusing tale that our beloved Stephanie Tanner actress from the Full House reboot on Netflix recently disclosed during a heart-to-heart with PEOPLE. You might recall John Stamos, my sitcom uncle, who made headlines when he snatched the iconic blue and white checkered sofa, the focal point of the Tanner household and numerous scenes.

Despite Sweetin’s modest wish for a keepsake, she found it challenging to transport the statue-head home. In her own words, she explained, “I tried to take the entire piece, but it was quite cumbersome.” On the final night of the production, it proved difficult to slip away unnoticed, given that she was carrying a large statue.

Initially, when she attempted to leave only carrying the head, she was prevented and had to return it. She humorously explained, “They said I couldn’t take it until they checked it in. Essentially, I was trying to make off with the Sea Pappy head.”

Later on, the team presented her with the Sea Pappy head in an exhilarating manner. A few weeks had passed when her doorbell chimed, and upon opening, she found the Sea Pappy head waiting for her. “It was a magnificent moment,” she said. Interestingly enough, sticking a note on it and claiming it as hers turned out to be well worth the trouble!

2021 saw Sweetin displaying her accomplished trophy on Bob Saget’s podcast, “Bob Saget’s Here For You.” She stated, “The Sea Pappy head was quite a project; it was a significant endeavor,” to the host. However, Sweetin disclosed that she possesses a Styrofoam replica rather than the original wooden one that the team reconstructed.

In response, Saget stated, “I could have assisted you in handling the entire situation. I was present.” To which Sweetin playfully replied, “Well, let’s go search for it then.” She humorously added, “Somewhere out there, there’s a headless Sea Pappy.” Why not catch up on all five seasons of Fuller House now, streaming exclusively on Netflix!
