As a dedicated fan who has been following Suits since its inception, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the upcoming spin-off series, Suits: LA. Having witnessed the original series’ incredible journey from 2011 to 2019, I have nothing but high hopes for this new venture. The prospect of seeing the characters we’ve grown to love on our screens once again is a tantalizing one, and I can only imagine the thrilling stories that await us in the City of Angels.
Gina Torres expresses her wish for the Suits: LA spin-off to enjoy a prosperous and lengthy lifespan, mirroring that of the original series. At the 2024 Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday, she voiced her thoughts about the upcoming Los Angeles-based spin-off. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she stated, “I think it’s fantastic for L.A.” She further added, “I hope they have a run as successful and long as ours.
The actress who played on Pearson reflected on her time in the popular TV show and expressed, “It was a marvelous experience to be involved with such a successful series.” However, she’s thankful that the original concept has been continued through the spin-off shows. “There are simply fantastic actors, compelling stories, engaging storylines – as everyone knows – so yes, it’s truly wonderful,” she concluded.
In its run from 2011 to 2019, Suits featured Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, and Sarah Rafferty among its stars. The upcoming LA-based spin-off series will see Arrow’s Stephen Amell taking the lead as Ted, a former New York federal prosecutor who transforms by establishing a law firm focusing on criminal and entertainment cases, with assistance from an old friend, Stuart Lane. Together they represent some of the influential figures in Los Angeles.
Since its debut on Netflix in 2023, the Peacock network show has amassed a huge fanbase, breaking viewing records and consistently ranking at the top of Nielsen’s streaming charts. The success of the original series led to the announcement of a spin-off, with whispers of a resurgence in popularity. In June, the cast gathered for a panel discussion at the ATX Television Festival, where Patrick Adams (Michael Ross) hinted at the possibility of a spin-off movie featuring the original cast.
The actor mentioned to Entertainment Weekly that while the focus is currently on “Suits: LA” production, Aaron shows keen interest in reassembling the cast for another project. He went on to say, “It’s something he’d like to do,” and hinted at potential possibilities, albeit depending on numerous factors.
