‘I Hear These Rumors…’: Ginnifer Goodwin Reveals If She Is Ready To Do Once Upon a Time Reboot

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood trends and a soft spot for fairy tale retellings, I must say that Ginnifer Goodwin‘s return to the enchanted world of Once Upon a Time and Zootopia fills me with unbridled joy. Having built her life around these magical roles – marrying Prince Charming in real life, no less! – it seems only fitting that she should reprise Snow White and Judy Hopps once more.

Actress Ginnifer Goodwin hints at readiness for “Once Upon a Time” spinoff. During an interview at the D23 convention in Anaheim, California on August 9th, the 46-year-old star shared some insights about the potential return of a follow-up series to the well-known ABC show.

“I’ve also heard those rumors [about a reboot], and I’d be open to it if they decide to go ahead with that,” Goodwin said. “In fact, since I live nearby the creator, I might just find out about any developments.”

She expressed a strong desire to return, as her entire life seems to revolve around this event. In essence, she found her fairy tale prince (Josh Dallas) there, and their offspring are like extensions of herself.

A show named “Once Upon a Time,” which ran from 2011 to 2018, blended classic fairy tale characters with contemporary settings. This production was the brainchild of Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The series starred Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White and Josh Dallas as Prince Charming.

The remaining roles were filled as such: Lana Parrilla portrayed both The Evil Queen/Regina Mills; Robert Carlyle took on dual characters, Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold; additional characters include Gold, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Captain Hook, and Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, who is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming.

Previously, while conversing with PEOPLE, Dallas mentioned that he might carry on in this role, stating, “Folks frequently approach me expressing their newfound enjoyment of Once, having just begun watching it.”

In Zootopia 2, Ginnifer Goodwin reprises her role as Judy Hopps, ready for more adventures. At D23, she shared that she’s back in the studio recording for the sequel to ‘Encanto,’ set to hit theaters on November 26, 2025.

Reflecting on my experience, riding Judy Hopps once more feels like climbing back onto a familiar bicycle – only this time, I have the precious memories of the first film to guide me. As I’ve shared before, that initial journey was all about self-discovery; now, I am eager to apply those lessons and breathe new life into Judy. In the recording studio, I even donned ear pieces reminiscent of bunny ears – a playful touch that helps me get back into character.

In the meantime, fans of Once Upon a Time can watch the series on Disney+.
