He stated that after 43 years of friendship, it was simply the pleasure of doing what they both love, and that being able to do it together made their experience even more special, adding that nothing could top this. In the movie, he assumes the role of Rory, with Affleck depicting Cobby.

In a recent discussion, the actor from The Last Duel expressed his gratitude, stating, “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to continue creating films at this caliber, particularly with the remarkable individuals I get to work alongside. However, when some of these collaborators are not only my professional partners but also lifelong friends whom I’ve held dear for more than four decades, it makes the experience all the more unique and meaningful.”

Casey Affleck collaborated with Chuck MacLean on the screenplay for The Instigators. At the film’s premiere, he revealed that he didn’t attend any writing classes before working on the script; instead, he honed his writing skills by reading numerous scripts and being immersed in them. He explained that he wanted to express his ideas quickly before they became disorganized in his mind, stating, “I prefer to write in bursts and get everything out of my head before it becomes cluttered.” In his own words, he described his writing process as one of trying to put all his thoughts onto the page.

In the official description, Doug Liman’s humorous crime movie focuses on Rory (Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck), a father-son duo with an unusual partnership. They aim to pilfer money from a crooked politician, but their scheme goes awry. To avoid being caught, they persuade Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) to aid them in slipping through the city undetected. As they navigate the urban landscape, they must set aside their disagreements and cooperate to evade capture, potentially facing more serious consequences.
