‘I Feel Like My…’: Todd Phillips Shares Update On His Potential Future In DC Universe After Joker: Folie A Deux

As a die-hard fan of DC movies, I must confess that my heart skipped a beat when I heard about Joker: Folie à Deux. The anticipation was palpable, especially after the mind-blowing performance by Joaquin Phoenix in the first installment. Now, with the addition of the enigmatic and captivating Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, it felt like a dream come true!

Joker: Folie à Deux, a sequel to the blockbuster hit from 2019, is now showing in cinemas. Just like its predecessor, it was directed by Todd Phillips, who created an impressive installment with the first movie. However, fans wonder if the director has the same high hopes for this new project.

In the sequel to Joker, we’re introduced to Harley Quinn, brought to life by Lady Gaga. This well-known DC villainess had earlier endeared herself to fans when played by Margot Robbie. After the debut of Joker: Madness Duet, director Phillips was inquired about the possibility of creating a solo Harley Quinn film.

Regarding speculation about upcoming plotlines in the growing DC Universe, the director of Due Date shared that the direction for future movies doesn’t align with his vision. He expressed a sense of completion, stating, “For me, my journey within the DC Universe ended with those two films.

The filmmaker shared these remarks at the Los Angeles debut of the newest musical production, as he chatted with The Hollywood Reporter during an interview.

For those unfamiliar, the filmmaker behind The Hangover movie series has stated earlier that he isn’t inclined towards creating a third Joker film.

In the film, it’s Lady Gaga who portrays the romantic interest of Arthur Fleck, known as the Joker in this version, played by Joaquin Phoenix. Their encounter takes place at Arkham State Hospital, where Fleck is detained before his trial for the actions he took in the preceding movie while he was held there.

The 2019 entry of Joker earned over  $1 billion, also making the actor from Walk the Line an Oscar winner.

Simultaneously, Lady Gaga unveiled an accompanying album titled “Harlequin,” which was released alongside the movie. A sneak peek of her album was shared with fans prior to the premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux, delighting cinema-goers.

As a devoted admirer, I shared my excitement when the songstress of Bloody Mary fame uploaded a video to her Instagram account, accompanied by the intriguing caption: “Every situation seems to have its Joker.

In the recording, she appears dressed as a child and acts accordingly. Later in the video, she’s wandering through the renowned Louvre Museum in Paris.

Soon she gives her own touch to a very popular painting from history, the painting of Monalisa, by drawing a red smile on the glass protecting the artwork

Additionally, the very museum where she joined saw a change too; its Instagram profile picture transformed into a depiction of Mona Lisa, her face adorned with a red smile.
