I Ate an Entire Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie In a Single Sitting (And Regret Everything)

My editors warned me against this, but I ignored them – they know I’m stubborn. Once I decided to try and eat an entire Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie in one go, there was no stopping me. I just finished, and honestly, I’m not feeling clever or rebellious. Mostly, I just feel full of sweet, citrusy, bright blue pie and a whole lot of regret.

Do I regret trying and succeeding, or regret failing? In the case of the Taco Bell Baja Blast Pie, it turns out those feelings were actually the same.

What Does the Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie Taste Like?

Taco Bell describes its new Baja Blast Pie as a creamy, key lime-flavored dessert with a graham cracker crust and whipped cream, inspired by their popular Baja Blast drink. However, it doesn’t really taste like key lime or the soda itself. Instead, it’s just very sweet and tastes like a generic citrus pudding in a crust – you won’t really detect much lime flavor at all.

The Consistency of the Baja Blast Pie Made It Taste Worse

The Taco Bell Baja Blast pie is good, but it’s a bit too creamy after thawing. I was hoping for a texture similar to key lime pie, but it ended up being more like a very thin pudding. It’s almost liquid! If you try it, I suggest enjoying it while it’s still partially frozen.

Is the Taco Bell Baja Blast Pie Any Good?

Let’s be honest: the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie isn’t great. It’s not terrible, and I’ve definitely eaten worse, but it’s just not enjoyable. My opinion didn’t change, even after eating a lot of it. The pie has a one-dimensional, mushy texture and lacks any real flavor complexity. I wouldn’t have finished even one slice—which was impossible to cut because it was so runny, so I ended up eating it straight from the tin—if it weren’t for the really good whipped cream.

Surprisingly, the Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie is actually better than the drink itself. It somehow manages to taste less artificial, which is a mystery! It’s hard to explain when just thinking about finishing the whole pie is a challenge.

Did Mikey Really Eat An Entire Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie In One Sitting?

I really struggled to finish even half of the pie. It wasn’t enjoyable at all – even a single slice felt like too much. The texture was unpleasant, and the Taco Bell Baja Blast flavor was overly sweet and artificial, making it hard to eat more than a few bites. Honestly, half the pie was more than enough.

I just kept pushing forward, and foolishly thought speeding up would make things better. It didn’t! I hadn’t even brought any water, which was silly. Maybe, on some level, I wanted to experience this completely unadulterated, and didn’t want anything else – food or drink – to interfere.

…..No. I’m just sort of dumb. Obviously.

Too soupy to cut into actual slices. Had to eat it out of the tin like a monster.

I only had about a quarter of my Taco Bell Baja Blast left, and honestly, I wasn’t sure I wanted to finish it. I even wondered if the experience of failing would be as compelling as succeeding. Plus, I was dreading how I’d feel for the next two days – a part of this challenge I’d rather not share the details of.

I kept eating, though it was really difficult. I tried to finish quickly, but I started feeling sick from all the sugar with just a few bites remaining. I have no idea how much sugar was in that pie, and I definitely didn’t check the nutritional information – and I never will.

Three bites. That’s all that stood between me and….whatever was on the other side of this.

Then two bites.

One.

Zero.

I ate the whole Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast pie in a single sitting.

From start to finish, it took me almost exactly 15 minutes and 30 seconds.

I spent some time taking photos and videos throughout the process, but it didn’t actually hinder my progress. I only did this because it was for work – I wouldn’t have started it otherwise, and even if I had, I doubt I would have finished. I probably would have given up after just a small part of it. Documenting everything was what ultimately allowed me to achieve this crazy goal.

I really regret eating that Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast pie. I wish I hadn’t finished it – not even a single bite! I feel terrible because I ate way too much of that teal-colored pudding filling, more than anyone should ever eat in their life.

I have to admit, my editors were right all along – I should have listened to them. If you’re considering trying that Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast pie despite my warning, please don’t do it by yourself, all at once, or both! Sharing is caring, and pacing yourself is key.
