Hunter x Hunter Returns as Togashi Completes New Chapters for September Release

As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for manga and anime, I have had the pleasure of following Hunter x Hunter since its early days. The story of Gon Freecss and his journey to become a Hunter has captivated me for years, and I have eagerly anticipated each new chapter and adaptation with bated breath.

The future of Hunter x Hunter has been unclear due to Yoshihiro Togashi’s health problems, which have kept him from fully dedicating himself to Gon and the hunter community. Nevertheless, Togashi has made a comeback to write new chapters for the Succession Contest Arc. However, his health remains an ongoing concern. In spite of this, Togashi keeps fans informed about the development of upcoming chapters, with a significant announcement revealing that the next major installments have been delivered to Shueisha.

Hunter x Hunter manga is returning this September

Hunter x Hunter, starring Gon and Killua, has taken a break from the story for some time now. The ongoing plot, known as the Succession Contest Arc, centers around Kurapika, the lone survivor of the Kurta Clan, and his quest to claim leadership in a kingdom. This storyline is filled with epic battles that have yet to be animated, but fans are eagerly anticipating their animated debuts, promising excitement and thrills.

Hunter x Hunter is coming back in September with two new chapters, numbering 402 and 403, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. As the most popular manga artist, Togashi has been active on social media, giving fans glimpses of the acclaimed shonen series through new and old artwork.

The manga “Hunter x Hunter” by Yoshihiro Togashi may still come out with new chapters, yet its anime adaptation, produced by Studio Madhouse and titled “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End,” has not resumed. No announcements have been made about Madhouse returning to Togashi’s world. Although there are still unanimated storylines in “Hunter x Hunter,” featuring unexplored events and battles, it seems that there is currently a waning enthusiasm for the series within the animation industry.

A brief about Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter has achieved significant critical acclaim and financial prosperity, making it one of Shueisha’s top-selling manga series. As of 2022, approximately 84 million copies have been sold in Japan.

In this tale, the central character is a young boy named Gon Freecss. Contrary to what he’d been led to believe, his father – who was supposedly gone from his life since childhood – turns out to be an accomplished Hunter. Hunters are esteemed professionals who embark on thrilling quests that encompass a variety of pursuits, ranging from tracking down elusive animal species and unearthing hidden treasures to exploring uncharted territories and apprehending rogue individuals.

Although his father had left him behind, Gon determinedly embarked on a quest to mimic his dad’s life, endure the challenging Hunter Exam, and ultimately locate him. Throughout his journey, Gon crossed paths with numerous Hunters including Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua, as well as encountered supernatural phenomena. The fundamental concept for this manga was inspired by Togashi’s personal passion for collecting.

The Hunter x Hunter manga has achieved significant commercial success, with sales exceeding 60.6 million copies in Japan by February 2012, making it Shueisha’s eighth best-selling series. By 2014, this number had risen to 66.3 million. Various volumes reached the top of Oricon’s list as the best-selling manga in Japan upon their release, including volumes 30 through 36.

As a longtime fan of manga and anime, I’ve had the pleasure of following the sales charts closely over the years. Based on my personal observations and research, I can confidently say that certain volumes of Hunter x Hunter have truly stood out in terms of popularity and success.
