In a captivating turn of events, Apple TV+ is set to reintroduce Hugh Laurie in the limelight with “The Wanted Man“, an edge-of-your-seat crime thriller produced by George Kay, the brilliant mind behind “Hijack” and “Lupin”. This eight-episode series promises a rollercoaster of intense drama, deception, and a perilous hunt for retribution.
Laurie takes on the role of Felix Carmichael, a formidable crime boss who heads the London underworld group called The Capital. Until now, Felix had been invincible, but he’s ultimately apprehended to discover that one of his confidants has betrayed him. Behind bars, he learns that his empire is collapsing. With a vengeance, Felix devises an audacious jailbreak plan, making himself a fugitive once more.
In addition to Laurie, the cast also includes Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Gina McKee (My Policeman), Hazel Doupe (Say Nothing), Elliott Heffernan (Blitz), and Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones).
George Kay takes on the roles of both showrunner and executive producer for this project, with Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford also serving as executive producers. The director of the upcoming series will be Jakob Verbruggen, who has previously worked on Dark Matter and Black Mirror.
