Hugh Grant Vents Out Over ‘Insulting’ Airport Encounter; Slams ‘Creepy’ Question Asked by Officer

On a heated social media post, Hugh Grant expressed displeasure over an allegedly disrespectful event that occurred to him, his spouse Anna Eberstein, and their children at London’s Heathrow Airport on the 4th of April.

The British actor expressed his annoyance on X, which used to be known as Twitter, after an experience at Heathrow Airport. “I’ve just gone through Heathrow with my wife and children,” he started. “All of us share the same last name (Grant) in our passports.

In a casual conversation, the immigration official inquired about the children’s parents, specifically asking if the Heretic actor and his spouse were their mothers and fathers. This action sparked annoyance and dissatisfaction from the English actor.

He labeled the interaction with the officers and the overall incident as “invasive, disrespectful, and uncomfortable.” He did not provide additional details about the situation, and Heathrow Airport’s spokespeople declined to address the matter when contacted by Page Six.

The representative from the airport clarified to the media outlet that the individuals accused by Grant were actually Border Force officials, not employees of Heathrow Airport itself. Furthermore, they emphasized that the immigration areas at the airport are managed by the Home Office or Border Force.

When the outlet reached out to the UK’s Home Office, the department responsible for policing, safety, immigration, among other matters, they failed to reply.

Grant is married to Eberstein since 2018, and they have a son John (age 12), Lulu (age 9), and Blue (age 6) together. Additionally, he has two other children, Tabitha (age 13) and Felix (age 11), from his previous relationship with Tinglan Hong.

Online users responded to Grant’s angry post, supporting the authorities as they performed their duties. It’s not inappropriate or invasive when a child is being trafficked or kidnapped; instead, consider the bigger picture beyond your own world and that of your family, one user commented with the username X.

Instead of taking offense like someone might do who is often referred to as “Karen,” perhaps you could choose to understand that the question was posed with your child’s safety in mind, instead.
