Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.7 update will introduce two new sets of equipment called Planar Ornaments, and we now know what benefits they’ll provide.
Amphoreus, The Eternal Land:
- +8% CRIT Rate, +8% SPD for all allies while the wearer’s Memosprite is on the field.
Tengoku@Livestream:
- +16% CRIT DMG, +32% CRIT DMG for three turns if three or more Skill Points are consumed in the same turn.
The Amphoreus set is designed to work well with the upcoming character Cyrene, who will focus on supporting her teammates by increasing their speed. However, this won’t be useful for all characters – for example, Castorice actually benefits from having low speed to maximize his abilities. Right now, the set doesn’t seem very appealing to anyone other than Cyrene and potentially characters who can benefit from a speed boost.
Tengoku@Livestream is a valuable item for characters who need Skill Points, as it significantly boosts Critical Damage. Currently, only three characters in Honkai: Star Rail can fully utilize its benefits: Archer, Imbibitor Lunae, and Qingque.
Archer can use Skill Points multiple times per turn to cast his Skill repeatedly, Imbibitor Lunae can spend several Skill Points at once to power up his Basic Attack, and Qingque can use them to gamble without ending her turn. This allows all three characters to benefit from a 48% Critical Damage boost.
Compositions that require a lot of Skill Points definitely have weaknesses. They tend to be fragile, especially if you don’t have Fu Xuan, and can be slow without characters who build Skill Points like Sparkle or Hanya. However, with this new set of items being released, these types of teams might become popular again, as the developers intentionally design items to support specific playstyles.
