HSR 3.7 breaks Hidden Passages, so here’s a workaround

Version 3.7 of Honkai: Star Rail is now available, concluding the story of Amphoreus. Alongside the new content, HoYoverse has included the usual improvements to make the game better, but one of these changes is unfortunately causing some problems for players.

The Great Tomb of the Nameless Titan and Nightmare’s Echo areas include a special key that, when activated, lets you instantly teleport through the Hidden Passages of Janus, skipping the normal animations. This makes exploring Amphoreus much faster and easier.

The feature works well initially, but it stops functioning correctly when you enter a new, previously unused Hidden Passage, like when advancing the story.

When you discover a new Hidden Passage, the game shifts to a familiar screen where you’ll solve a puzzle. This puzzle involves rearranging patterns to create a symbol associated with one of the Titans, which then unlocks the passage.

After you activate the master key inside the Great Tomb, the game freezes on the next screen and becomes unplayable.

So, I tried going back to the Great Tomb to turn off that key again, but it just wouldn’t work. The game says I can, but to even get there, I need to use this Hidden Passage, and that’s completely broken too. It’s like, what’s the point?

Luckily, there’s a way to fix this: you can either press and hold the ALT key to align the symbol correctly, or, if that doesn’t work, move your cursor to the edge of the screen and quickly switch between the game and another window. This alternate method will also rotate the symbol, allowing you to align it and progress in the Passage.

After you disable the master key in the Great Tomb, the hidden passages will function normally. However, we recommend avoiding this feature for now.
