HoYoverse teases Alice and Varka in new Genshin Impact – Song of the Welkin Moon video

In the upcoming version 5.7 of Genshin Impact, significant lore revelations are expected and will further advance the main storyline. However, HoYoverse is not resting on their laurels as they are already preparing for an exciting new chapter in the Nod-Krai region, which has been referred to as Song of the Welkin Moon. A fresh teaser of Nod-Krai, shown immediately after the latest developer live stream, gave us a glimpse into some key characters from the upcoming storyline, and many players have eagerly anticipated seeing these figures for years.

As a passionate fan, I found myself captivated by the sneak peek where a woman’s voice expertly introduces us to some of the significant groups that will make an appearance – namely, the Wild Hunt, the Fatui, and the Knights of Favonius. It seems this knowledgeable guide is none other than Alice, a character well-known by gamers as Klee’s mother and the powerful leader of Mondstadt’s enigmatic Hexenzirkel. Even more intriguing, we get what appears to be our first glimpse of her – a woman with a cascade of light hair, a relaxed grin, and a striking red hat. Already, she’s being hailed as Genshin Impact’s version of Honkai: Star Rail’s Herta, due to their likeness in design.

The description states: “To learn more about a specific land, it’s best to ask those who reside there. However, when confronted with numerous options and no clear path forward, maybe you require the discerning vision of a wise woman to offer ‘direction’.” This witch is the one speaking in the video.

In the preview, one eagerly awaited figure making an appearance is Varka, the Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius. He is depicted as a tall, fair-haired man with wide shoulders, marching at the head of a group moving towards the edge of a cliff.

Previously in the video, there’s a brief appearance of an old contact from Sumeru, Dottore, who now holds the top position among the Fatui Harbingers after Capitano’s sacrifice in Natlan.

In the forest, once tranquil under the moonlight, now the ominous presence of the Wild Hunt looms. There are individuals known as Frostmoon dwellers, basking in the silvery glow. Others, armed with swords, battle against the encroaching darkness and cold. Rumor has it that the Snowland Fae still pine for the old frosts… Meanwhile, the Fatui strive to capture the false celestial bodies above. Lastly, the Knights, guided by the western wind, are nearing the end of their challenging quest. I’m sure my companions will bring a captivating enchantment to this far-off land. Just as a stone yearns for a sculptor’s touch, destiny awaits your arrival.

Song of the Welkin Moon is set to arrive with Genshin Impact 6.0 later this year.
