HoYoverse recently shared a look at how Honkai: Star Rail was made during a presentation in China, including some interesting details about the game’s characters. For instance, fans already knew Sparkle was a small but surprisingly intense character – and now it’s confirmed! Concept art shows she’s only about 1.36 meters tall, making her a truly petite powerhouse.
The presentation also highlighted Phainon, with multiple slides detailing the influences behind his appearance and abilities. This supports a long-held belief among Marvel fans: Phainon’s attack of throwing meteors while in his Khaslana form was clearly inspired by Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet to bombard opponents with lunar fragments.
The creators revealed that Phainon’s gentle nature was heavily influenced by Himmel, a beloved character from the popular anime *Frieren*. Like Himmel, who endured immense hardship to save his friends and remained dedicated to his mission, Phainon would bravely shoulder any burden for those he cares about.
The creators also drew inspiration from Gawain, a character from the game Fate/Grand Order, and Viktor from the animated series Arcane.
